- Why does ArtResin list two different ratios?
- ArtResin mixes 1:1 by volume, but its resin and hardener have different densities, so by weight the ratio is 100:84. Use volume measuring cups with the 1:1 figure, or a scale with the weight figure — don't mix the two.
- Can I substitute one product's ratio for another's?
- No — a mix ratio is specific to that exact resin/hardener chemistry. Using a different ratio than the one your specific product calls for can leave it permanently sticky or brittle. Always follow your own product's label or data sheet.
- Why do cure times vary so much even at the same ratio?
- Cure time depends on the hardener's chemistry (fast/medium/slow formulations), ambient temperature, and batch thickness, not on the mix ratio alone — two 2:1 products can cure at very different speeds.
